December 2024 Newsletter: Year in Review

December 1, 2024 · 8 min read

As we close out 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on an extraordinary year at Facial Injectables. From record enrollment numbers to the launch of new training programs, from inspiring student success stories to significant industry developments, this has been a year of growth and achievement for our entire community. Here is a look back at the milestones that defined 2024 and a preview of what is coming in 2025.

2024 Year Highlights

This year, Facial Injectables trained more practitioners than in any previous year in our history. Over 3,200 practitioners attended our live training programs across 15 cities nationwide. Our membership community grew by 40 percent, and our course completion rate exceeded 94 percent, reflecting the quality and relevance of our curriculum.

We expanded our geographic footprint with new training locations in Nashville, Austin, and Denver, responding to demand from practitioners in the Southeast, Southwest, and Mountain West regions who previously had to travel to coastal cities for quality hands-on training. Each new location was carefully selected based on facility quality, patient model availability, and local practitioner demand.

Our faculty team grew as well. We welcomed four new lead instructors in 2024, each bringing more than a decade of clinical experience and a proven track record of both patient outcomes and teaching effectiveness. Our faculty now includes board-certified dermatologists, plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, and advanced practice providers who collectively represent some of the most respected voices in aesthetic medicine education.

New Courses Launched in 2024

We introduced several new training programs this year in response to evolving market demand and advances in treatment techniques.

Advanced Lip Architecture: This specialized one-day intensive goes beyond basic lip augmentation to cover the principles of lip design, vermilion border refinement, philtral column enhancement, and the Russian lip technique. The course was developed in response to the growing demand for natural-looking lip enhancement and has been one of our most popular new offerings.

Combination Therapy Masterclass: Recognizing that most aesthetic patients benefit from multi-modality treatment plans rather than single-product interventions, we launched a two-day masterclass focused on combining neurotoxins, fillers, threads, and biostimulators into comprehensive facial rejuvenation protocols. This course targets experienced injectors who want to elevate their treatment planning from individual area corrections to full-face harmonization.

Practice Launch Accelerator: For the first time, we offered a business-focused course designed specifically for practitioners who are launching or scaling an aesthetics practice. Topics include business planning, financial modeling, marketing strategy, patient acquisition, team building, and compliance. The course has received outstanding reviews from practitioners who appreciated the practical, actionable business guidance combined with clinical context.

Student Achievements

The accomplishments of our training alumni continue to be our greatest source of pride. Here are just a few highlights from 2024.

Dr. Maria Gonzalez, a family medicine physician in Miami, launched a dedicated aesthetics practice within her existing clinic after completing our full injectable certification sequence. Within eight months, aesthetic services accounted for 55 percent of her practice revenue, and she hired her first nurse injector to meet growing demand.

Jennifer Walsh, RN, a former emergency department nurse in Chicago, completed our Botox and filler certifications and transitioned to full-time aesthetic nursing. She now serves as lead injector at a prestigious North Shore medical spa and mentors new nurses entering the field.

Dr. Robert Kim, a dentist in Seattle, integrated facial injectables into his dental practice after completing our training programs. His combination of dental and aesthetic services has become a unique differentiator in his market, attracting patients who value the convenience and clinical expertise of receiving comprehensive facial treatments from a single provider.

These stories represent a small fraction of the success our alumni achieve every year. Each one reinforces our belief that quality education, combined with practitioner dedication, produces transformative career outcomes.

Industry Milestones in 2024

The aesthetic medicine industry experienced significant developments in 2024 that will shape practice for years to come. The global aesthetic market surpassed $15 billion in annual revenue, driven by continued growth in minimally invasive procedures and expanding consumer demographics.

The FDA approved new indications for several existing products, broadening the treatment areas where practitioners can use established neurotoxins and fillers. Biostimulatory treatments continued their rapid adoption curve, with hyperdilute calcium hydroxylapatite and poly-L-lactic acid treatments becoming standard components of the aesthetic toolkit. The science of skin quality treatments advanced significantly, with new data supporting combination protocols that address texture, tone, and laxity simultaneously.

On the regulatory front, several states updated their scope of practice guidelines for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, reflecting the profession's growing recognition of these providers' capabilities in aesthetic medicine. We continued to monitor these developments closely and update our curriculum to reflect current regulatory environments in every state where we train.

Looking Ahead: 2025 Schedule Preview

We are excited about what 2025 has in store. Our training calendar for the new year includes expanded offerings across all existing locations plus the addition of two new training sites: Charlotte, North Carolina, and Portland, Oregon.

New course offerings for 2025 will include a dedicated complication management workshop, a male aesthetics certification program, and an advanced cadaver lab series featuring fresh tissue dissection for detailed anatomical study. We are also expanding our online module library with new self-paced content covering advanced anatomy, product science, and patient communication.
